Insurrection of the Skin
This series of photographs explores the lack of freedom and equality for Iranian women under the grip of a theocratic power. This work is symbolic and iconic, addressing the courageous Iranian movement "Woman, Life, Freedom" that followed the death of Mahsa Amini, where the Islamic Republic did not hesitate to kill, imprison, and execute people who took to the streets to demand democracy and secularism. Like an artist who uses the walls of their country to convey political messages, I, in exile, far from my country, use my body as a canvas.
